Remove the shade or top of the floor lamp.
How to fix a floor lamp.
1 unplug the floor lamp.
To take it apart start by taking the screws off the foundation.
A majority of floor lamps are comprised of threaded pipes joined by screws.
Place a small piece of electrical tape on the extra cord to hold it.
Remove the light bulb from the socket.
You will want 6 of the cord extending above the lamp.

The electrical cord will be pulled up through the lamp.
If the lamp works after you tighten up the screws great.
Do not lose any of the pieces.
Get the new socket the one with the nuts.
Get the new wires.
You can begin repairing a floor lamp by disassembling the lamp.
4 reattach pole and screw on until tight.
If that doesn t work operate the switch.
Usually there is a nut that holds a shade on or if the lamp has an open glass top there is a nut around the socket.
If not take it apart again and proceed with the following steps.
3 take a small piece of duct tape and wrap it around the inner grooves of the pole.
Run it in the lamp and then through the socket.
If the screws are loose tighten them and reassemble the lamp.
Unscrew the nut and lift off the shade or top.
Loose screws may have been the lamp s only problem.

If a bulb flickers when you turn on the lamp you may only need to tighten the bulb in its socket.
After a couple of hours i figured out the best way to fix this issue and have my floor lamp looking straight again.
Grab the two wires near where they turn down into the body of the lamp and pull up.
