Place a few handfuls of ice in a zip lock bag.
Ice is an important tool in the gum removal arsenal.
They help protect the original carpeting in our vehicles by collecting all of the dirt and grime that transfers from our shoes our pets our gear etc and it doesn t take long for them to get pretty darn filthy.
Use an old credit card rubber scrapper or plastic scraper.
Step 2 freeze it off.
Use a blunt knife or scraper to remove the gum from the surface.
Gently lift the gum up off of the carpet fibers with a scraping motion.
Take an ice cube and rub it on the gum.
To use the ice method hold an ice cube or freeze pack on the gum for 15 to 20 minutes until it hardens.
Close and seal it tight to avoid leaking water as the ice melts.
Simply douse it with wd 40 wet it down good and off it comes.
Allow it to crack and break into fragments and remove as much as possible.
Ice freezes gum so it hardens and cracks making it easy to scrape off a surface.
Put an ice cube in a plastic bag and hold it on the gum for a couple minutes to loosen it.
Place the ice bag directly on the gum in your carpet and wait 5 10 minutes.
Try simply scraping the gum off of the floor.
Put the bag of ice directly onto the gum stain.
How to remove gum from car floor mats.
For rubber floor mats pick away the largest part of the chewing gum.
This will harden the gum so it s easier to remove gum from carpet.
Let s face it car floor mats are a lifesaver.
The gum should harden and then you can scrape it up using one of the scrapers above.
Rub ice over stubborn areas that won t lift off and repeat as necessary.
After this time the gum should be frozen enough and you can start breaking it out.
For carpeted floor mats use the same technique as the rubber mats but re wet the cloth a few times and rub the gum out of the carpet.
Wet the cloth with the solvent and rub lightly until gone.
Use a butter knife or metal spatula to scrape the frozen gum off the carpet.
The juice in the wipe will break down the adhesive in the gum but for older gum it will take some time.
It gets stuck on the floor in carpet in your hair.
If there is anything left use the tweezers to remove the rest.
Use a goo gone wipe to pick out the loose pieces of gum.
Use a scraping tool to fully scrape the gum from the carpet.
To freeze the gum out of your carpet grab a few ice cubes from the freezer and place them in a zip loc bag.
