It is easier to install baseboards after laminate flooring is put down.
Laminate flooring is ready to install as long as the base floor is clean and smooth.
However it is easier to paint baseboards included with no consequences of ruining newly installed flooring.
This way the floor will be under the baseboards.
Baseboard heaters can present a problem during a laminate flooring installation if they occur along the wall running next to the last course.
It is possible to install the baseboard with a gap to accommodate the height of laminate or hardwood flooring.
Place 1 4 inch spacers at each end of the first course to ensure a 1 4 inch gap between the baseboard and the laminate flooring.
The installation of laminate flooring is relatively straightforward and anyone with some spare time and general carpentry knowledge and tools can put a laminate floor down.
